Fall Retreat Upstate NY
A Fall Weekend Retreat · A Balanced Planet Yoga Program
Return to What Matters
Opening the Heart
September 10–12, 2027
Super Soul Farm · Upstate New York · led by Cheryl & Bob
Come home to yourself.
Step away from the noise of everyday life and into a long, golden weekend upstate — slow mornings, warm meals, gentle movement, and the kind of company that feels like coming home.
You don't need to have it all figured out. You just need to come.
Looking for a Meaningful Fall Reset?
Join Cheryl and Bob this September for Return to What Matters, a weekend retreat at Super Soul Farm, nestled in Upstate New York. Whether this is your first retreat or your fifth, you belong here — come exactly as you are, and return home not just rested, but more awake.
Last year we asked what distorts how we see. This year we turn toward a different question: how do I meet what is in front of me? Together we will explore the Brahmaviharas — four qualities of the heart that yoga says are already in us, waiting to be uncovered. No prior experience or philosophy background needed.
Friendliness toward what is — starting with ourselves, which is often the hardest place to begin.
Staying present with suffering, our own and other people's, without rushing to fix it.
The honest question underneath: what do I feel when someone else gets what I wanted?
Steadiness that holds it all. Not detachment, and not the same as not caring.
A Practice That Widens
The thread running through the weekend is loving-kindness meditation — a few simple phrases, silently offered, to a circle that grows a little wider at every session.
We begin with someone who has been kind to us, then ourselves. We widen to a friend, to someone we barely know, and we carry the phrases out onto the afternoon walk. By Sunday we're offering them to everyone.
What If It Doesn't Feel Like Anything?
The phrases don't have to produce a feeling. They often don't, at first. Coming to the cushion and saying them anyway is the whole practice.
You do not need to fix anything. You only need to be willing to begin.
"We do not manufacture love. We practice removing what stands in its way."
Space to Breathe
Super Soul Farm is a quiet stretch of Upstate New York — open fields, woodland trails, and wide, unhurried sky. This is a retreat, not a boot camp. Come to every session, or slip away for a nap, a slow walk, or a long cup of tea on the porch. There is plenty of room to disconnect, reflect, and simply be.
Opt in, opt out, and let the weekend meet you exactly where you are.
Take the Retreat Home with You
Every retreater receives a custom guidebook + journal created just for this weekend — your companion through the teachings, a place to capture what stirs in you, and a road map for what comes next. The weekend ends Sunday at 11. What you find here doesn't have to.
