BPY makes the move to Patreon and you can get in on a free 30-day trial period if you sign up before April 3rd We are so grateful for our time (and your participation) on the Marvelous Platform. Having the ability to stay connected via on-demand + livestream classes during the pandemic was a huge help in keeping our virtual yoga community intact! We have many students that now practice near and far and take full advantage of having BPY’s virtual yoga community “whenever + wherever” for as little as $15/month. In order for us to continue hosting this virtual yoga library of classes we need to make a small…

    New Year’s Day at BPY

    December 30, 2021 /

The studio is hosting 3 special classes to kick New Year’s Day of 2022 First up on January 1st is Holly’s 9 am Vinyasa RED class. Instead of setting a resolution for 2022 on New Year’s Day, Holly will focus on setting a drishti. A drishti translates to perception in Sanskrit, and in the practice of yoga we use this term to indicate our gaze point, such as the nose, the brow point or navel. Along with the breath, we focus on these particular points to develop our ability to concentrate. Holly will be expanding upon the concept of a gaze point off the mat asking each student to decide…

  • BPY Welcomes Back Drop-Ins

    December 12, 2021 /

It’s been a long strange ride friends. And while not everything has gone back to normal since the start of the pandemic, we are happy to lift the restriction on drop-ins. Students may now attend any class at the studio without first signing into MindBody ahead of time. While we certainly still appreciate anytime you can sign in for class in advance, we once again want to allow students who find themselves able to attend class last minute to drop in. Payment can be made in studio by way of cash or credit card. BPY offers a variety of packages from drop-ins, unlimited passes, and class passes. As a reminder,…

  • Digging Deeper – What is Kundalini?

    June 30, 2020 /

Kundalini is an ancient Sanskrit word that literally means “coiled snake.” In early Eastern religion (long before Buddhism and Hinduism) it was believed that each individual possessed a divine energy at the base of the spine. This is offen depicted as a serpent coiled up at the base of the spine. This serpent guards the entrance of sushumna nadi, the central energy channel of our bodies, keeping prana energy (our basic life force energy) from entering and ascending up through the center of the spine through the seven chakras. The exact origin of Kundalini Yoga is unknown, but the earliest known mention dates to the sacred Vedic collection of writings known…

    Have you heard about Earthing?

    April 30, 2020 /

Did you know that the earth emits a natural energy that promotes vibrant health amongst us humans when direct skin-to-soil contact {Earthing} is made? Yup, and there is extensive research on it too.  Because of our modern way of living, we don’t get this direct raw earthly connection like we used to.  We wear shoes (or at least most of us do) and we don’t sleep on the ground for the most part.  Scientists are now figuring out that this person-to-planet disconnect is directly correlated to a handful of common health issues, including insomnia, fatigue, depression, chronic pain, and problematic blood pressure.  [Check out this YouTube video on Earthing] We…

    April 9, 2020 /

What if we spent our days in isolation from one another finding a way to connect more? We’ve heard a lot of reasons why people avoid a meditation practice. One of them being the lack of time. Well, one of the bright sides of this quarantine for a lot of us is – a whole heck of a lot of time we never have been able to tap into before. And if you are finding yourself saying you are even busier than before, right now is probably a very good time for you to find a way to take a timeout and get out of fight or flight mode. Listen,…
